Essential Question- How do we write for the purpose of self-selecting topics for personal enjoyment, commenting on other peoples' work and answering the warm-up question?
Language Objective- What does self-selecting mean?
Today we will 1) do our warm-up question 2) Self-select topics for writing 3) Adding a new page about something that you like 4) work on web design

1) 1:35-1:50 Warm-up Question (5pts): Below is a photo of Minnehaha Falls frozen and from the back. Every year I like to climb behind the Falls at least once. Write about your favorite place to go or somewhere you have always wanted to go. Be sure to be descriptive and complete.

2) 1:50-2:00 Post respectful comments on classmates blogs (5pts).
3) 2:00-2:20 Self-select a topic to write about  something that you like to do or something you like to do. This can be done as a new post or by adding a new page.
4) 2:20-2:25 Reflect: 1) What was your favorite thing we did this quarter in flex class; blogging, acting or History Day projects and why? 2) What would you do better for this and why?
5) 2:25-2:30 Picture, design work and free-time

Today we will 1) do our warm-up question 2) talk about publishing and quality of writing 3) Self-select topics for writing 4) work on web design

REMINDER: Blogs can be seen by anyone in the world. Make sure that your blog post are using proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation.
1) 1:35-1:50 Warm-up Question (5pts): Currently parts of Obama's health care law is going into effect and some of it is being argued against. Do you think that everyone in the United States (or the rest of the world) should have equal access to health care (doctors, medicine, etc) or should it only be for those who have enough money to afford the cost of a doctor?
2) 1:50-2:00 Post respectful comments on classmates blogs (5pts).
3) 2:00-2:20 Today self-select a topic  to write about by make a post about something that you like to do or something you like to do for the weekend. This can be done as a new post or by adding a new page.

Today we will 1) do our warm-up question 2)  see if we can fix our pages to have links and a template that functions 3) work on web design

1) 1:35-1:50 Warm-up Question (5pts): Last month a 17 year old Trayvon Martin was murdered by a neighborhood watchman who claims self-defense. Should people be able to use deadly force in order to defend themselves, even outside of their home? Does it change your opinion if the one who claims self-defense has a gun and the other person does not?

Today the writing prompt is: Write about 3 things you did with your extra time off of school last week. It does not need to be super detailed, if you want to just make a list and move on you can.

After you have finished your writing prompt, go back to my other days' posts and see what else you can complete such as;
Make a new link that contains three things/websites that you like.
Make a list of three goals you have for yourself in school, in blog class or for after high school.
Talk about your day.
Talk about what you might be doing over the winter break.
Talk about what your favorite class is and why.
Talk about your family.
Talk about something that makes you special from other people.

Addition writing prompt: If a student gets bullied and later commits suicide, should the people who did the bullying get arrested and in trouble? If so, what should be the punishment?
